The actress also discussed her friendship with Antonio Banderas. They met while filming the movie Two Much and married a few years later. She had children with Banderas and later became stepfather to Melanie’s children from prior marriages.

They had a lovely marriage, and Dakota has always understood that Banderas adored Melanie. Melanie divorced the star in 2014, but they still have a connection. They had a great time together, and Banderas considered these his happiest and most beautiful years. Melanie was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2010, and years later, she realized she had cancer.
