Back in April of 2024, Fox News ran an op-ed by one of its commentators, Liz Peeke, in which Ms. Peeke went on the offensive against Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and declared that she is an “idiot” who would destroy the GOP. Rep. MTG fired back during an early May appearance on Steve Bannon’s War Room Podcast, sounding off on Fox News to him,

As background, Ms. Peeke’s article was titled, “Marjorie Taylor Greene is an idiot. She is trying to wreck the GOP.” In it, Peek wrote, “It’s high time someone in the Republican Party told Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to turn all that bombastic self-serving showmanship and drama queen energy on Democrats, and stop trying to defeat her own party.”

Ms. Peeke added, sounding off on Rep. MTG and internal squabbles within the GOP, “The internal squabbles of the party need to stop. If Marjorie Taylor Greene and others want to oppose aid to Ukraine or the FISA bill, they can vote against it. That’s how democracy works. My message for MTG? Borrowing from Hillary Clinton: Get over yourself.”

Speaking with her on the subject of Speaker Johnson and a power-sharing agreement with Democrats that MTG and Rep. Thomas Massie drew attention to, Steve Bannon commented on the effect of her actions at the time, saying, “Now, because of your efforts, and Fox goes, oh, she’s an agent of chaos, she’s a narcissist, it’s all about her ego. Because of your action, Politico’s reporting they’re going to have a formal power-sharing agreement, which they’ve had to date.”

Continuing, he added that now the DC political scene is out in the open thanks to her, saying, “But now that you’ve smoked them out, now they have to come forward because they’re going to demand a pound of flesh like they’ve already been getting a pound of flesh. Now it’s all in the open. Congressman Green, your thoughts?”

Responding, MTG hammered Fox News for what it said about her and what the real effect of her push was, saying, “That’s right. It’s out in the open. And you’re right. Fox News called me an idiot. That was literally their headline. They called me an idiot. But what I’ve done is expose what was already happening in the dark.”

Then, sounding off on what Speaker Johnson allowed funding of, MTG said, “And I think the beautiful thing about it is, is that Democrats have to come clean. They were controlling Mike Johnson anyways. He was giving them everything, wide-open border policies, fully funded, fully funded the Biden Department of Justice, fully funded the FBI, gave them a brand new building, paid for full-term abortion funding, paid for the trans agenda against children.”

Continuing, she added, sounding off on his leadership, “He voted down a warrant requirement for FISA. Then he gives $61 billion to Ukraine. And while he’s claiming that he’s helping Israel, he actually stabs them in the back with $9 billion to Hamas. And then another $3.5 billion that Joe Biden’s about to use to bring in so-called refugees from Gaza into America. And Joe Biden wants to give them a citizenship. So this has already been happening, but the beauty of it is, is that Politico is telling the truth.”
